I have exciting news!
Scott and I went out Saturday and I picked out a Wedding Set. We also got him a band. We had talked about getting married for some time now, so I am sure it isn’t a big surprise to anyone…especially with Jonathan in the picture. We were trying to think of something to do on Saturday afternoon, and I mentioned going to Piqua Wal-Mart because Jonathan was almost out of formula and Sidney didn’t have any when we went there on Friday. I mentioned we could also go to the mall, and Scott asked if I wanted to go shopping for a ring. So, after we all got ready we headed out to eat and then headed to the mall.
Our first stop was Sears. I had found a ring there that I had liked, but decided I wanted to look around a little bit more…and I am glad I did. We headed down the mall and went to Kay’s Jewelers. There, I found the perfect ring…sitting right there in front of me. It had all the right curves in all the right places, and the band was also very beautiful holding three stones that sit on each side of the engagement ring. I was in love! Matthew and Jonathan went with us, and Matthew had to use the restroom so we left, talked about it while we took a short break, and then headed back to get it. The amazing thing is that it fits…no need for resizing at all.
Scott had the same luck. When we were at Sear’s he had seen a band that caught his eye and we headed back there after we were done at Kay’s to look at it again. He looked at it, we walked away, but then we turned around again before we left the store. He decided that he wanted it. And, he we were again lucky…it also fit him perfectly.
We got to show off my ring Sunday during Scott’s family reunion. I wasn’t there more than 5 minutes before Scott’s mom saw it, and it felt really good to hear her introduce me to people as her future daughter in law. She kept quiet about it until Scott was trying to get his sister to notice. Then, his mom chimed in and gave it away. I got a big hug from Scott’s sister! It was a really nice feeling, and they all made me feel like they are looking forward to my being a part of their family.
Today at work, it wasn’t so easy to get things started. I tried to wait until somebody noticed, thinking that Deb would surely be the first. I was there 2-1/2 hours and nobody had noticed yet so I finally yelled, “I am very disappointed in all of you for not noticing!” Cindy said, “You got your hair cut!” (LOL) and Diana saw the ring. They all adored the ring. (But, I guess people wouldn’t tell you if they didn’t…LOL).
Everyone’s question has been, “Have you set a date yet?” The answer is no. We are thinking about it, and we are thinking that we don’t want it to be during the hot summer months. We are also waiting for our money situation to get a little better…right now we just can’t afford a wedding (even the small intimate one we are wanting). You can bet as soon as we pick a date, we will be posting it on here.
I heard a saying, “Marriage shouldn’t be decided on whether you can live with a person, but whether you can live without them!” I can not imagine my life without Scott in it! He is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I am sure I will never find anyone that I could possibly feel closer to. We have a connection that is very hard to explain…he is my soul mate, yet so much more!
So, I’M ENGAGED! Yippee! I know, you are probably all thinking…”It’s about time!”
Oh yeah….here’s a picture of the ring!

Love,
Angie
